Many in today's paranormal filed have gone 100% digital in both still mode and video. Now I just bought my first Digital SLR, and love it, it will never replace my "Old School" 35mm film. I'd never though of going past the point and shoot digital cameras until my best friend got a Nikon D90. We were talking gear when she looked up some shots she'd taken and sent me. I was very impressed with the quality of the image but was quite jealous of her eye as well! "You could get one, and use both." she said in her logical sense she uses so well on me. After thinking on it for a day or two, I knew she was right so I bought one. I am more fond of it than I thought possible. Someday I may make the total switch, but some factors must change first. I may change my mind at a second's notice to you shutter over aperture setting at a moments notice, which I'm at the moment faster with a manual, but most of all it comes down to evidence gathering that dictates my choice. As of this writing, the image on either a slice of video or a camera negative is the only two avenues that can be certified 100% legit and not tampered with. That's an important piece of information to have since you and I try to capture proof of something most people of the world say doesn't exist. I have one such negative I took in my collection. Now I'd say in time they will be able to certify digital media as well but not at the moment. While it's true that the video and film means will cause the user more work and effort, I think the risk justifies the added thought. Do I investigate now with both? Of course I do, but the digital is used just to back up the film and allow me to see at an instant if something was or is there or not. The first thought on your mind should be to obtain proof that science it's self will back you. Next time I'll show you how to use both avenues hand in hand in hopes to help you to get your certificate of proof too! Until the next time........
