Day 2

  Bloody chilly with light rain, making some of my injuries from the past rather unhappy. No lab reports came in so still "flying blind" is regards to some information needed. No underground cables were found and the gear has be encased in plastic. All the cloud cover had made the area quite dark and the raindrops on fallen leaves can play tricks on ones mind. It's a popular theory that spirits will drain batteries in order to gain energy to manifest. This is why the the day before you leave test batteries behind to see if abnormal drainage has occurred. Just make sure you film the batteries being tested before and after. Some EVP spikes were recorded but could be nothing more than natural deposits to blame. There is a report in the file that the FFA has warned pilot's of an strong electromagnetic field in this area, but that's not been confirmed at this moment. Another theory is that runny water can cause the spikes as well. Due to all the past history of mining, there could very well be a running water stream in some of the leftover tunnels. There are signs of satanic graffiti sprayed in the area but could be the work of kids as a prank given the history of the area. One odd thing is that some of the areas inside the mines appear as they have just been sealed in the recent past. One could surmise that it was a natural happening due to the unstable timbers or the shift of the earth. The walls show telltale signs of chisel and tooling marks ruling out natural causes. The question is why that some areas have been seal while others have been left open. It would be far more cost effective as a safety measure to just seal the main entrance if safety was indeed the factor. There are jeep and ATV tracks in the area along fresh boot prints. I would label this, given the time of year to hunters, but if so, all must shop at the same places and purchase the same items. Of note however, is the lack of animal tracks and sounds. Both are a common findings where humans frequent on a regular basis. the ground is, however, soft enough one would think that even a raccoon would be bound to weigh enough to leave a trail. Openings also show no sign of hibernation or bedding areas but large animals would be more prone to bed in higher areas for an added safety factor. Also many are nocturnal as well. Lack of natural food supply makes the the chances of larger animals staying in the area unlikely. Area is also strangely quiet with the exception of the sound of a automobile in the distance. Due to the size and lack of manpower, we shall cover "A" sector marked out both via GPS and map.


    Five hours after sundown and a light was spotted in the east. Not sure what it was or how long it was there. Sighting could not have lasted more than a few seconds at best. Several hot spots on the FLIR but during the time it took to get there whoever or whatever was there has passed without leaving a trace. No distant sounds of anything of size trying to make a getaway. everyone on high alert in case the area is being used by cults. It is worthwhile to note since on the subject, no signs of "altars" or sacrifice have been uncovered although the file contains evidence of in the past. We did hear the sound of a large helicopter but it was either in the clouds or not bothering with flying but the rules. The sound grew silent as it went north. Still no sight or sounds of animals even after all this time in darkness so that makes on wonder even more about the hits on the FLIR. Worthy of note is that the three of us heard what one could call a low "chanting" sound in an speech that will put you in the mind of Latin. We were in different parts of the sector when it chant was overheard and almost at the same time. Of not as well the sound seem to come from all directions at the same time. Sound travels different in rain and given my hearing as not the best, I have to rely of the team and the gear more than ever on this one. Nothing was seen but the recorders hopefully captured this. Given the steady rain it would be plausible with a slow stealth movement to catch one unaware. No hits on infrared but the sound continues in a 360 degree fashion. After a night's sleep, we shall check the recorders quickly for any evidence.
