Day One thoughts

The weather hasn't moved in yet but this far up in the North Eastern part of the US, the rain may deploy as the frozen type. We have the most gear on-hand that we've ever had easy access to at one time. I wanted to leave no stone uncovered due to the facts that it's outdoor area has both caves and open spaces. Sighting cover the gamut from odd lights, hooded figures, UFO's, and phantom beings. Word also of many vehicles bearing "issued plates" have been spotted late at night as well. Soil samples will disclose the major minerals present and any traces of substance not native to this region. Also will check for gases, high EVP levels, and will need to consult map's for underground cables, and to see if the area is enroute to airports. Over a hundred years past the area was mined for it's ore and many underground caverns are know to exist. All this acreage and only a three-person team. Budget just wasn't there to bring on anyone else so we must trudge on and make do. I think the thing that bothers me the most at this point is, we have all these things that can measure what is here, but how do you measure what you're unsure of? Furthermore, we are taught to take baseline readings and then more readings in the process. How can one be sure that this proves anything more than either the readings have changed of they haven't? Simply said that is all they can prove! The rest can only be speculation and conjecture. As I've said before, we still need that "test ghost", to prove any one this one way or another. Sure one can report of the feeling of a cold spot or "goosebumps" but, it is outside and how many elements in the known word can trigger such an effect of us mortals. How do we prove this? If we locate Bigfoot, do I charm it with my wit while one of the others looks for a big rock? If a UFO flies over do we flip it off in hopes it lands because it has "air rage" and wants a fight? We have no generator, so bringing a vacuum to trap a phantom is not happening. Hooded figure could be a cult and that could be real problems. Just the three of use could not' surround a group of any size so there goes  any tactical advantage. Truth is, the paranormal has been chased for years and were no closer to proving it's exist or it doesn't. Hence the feeling of doing things the same tired way and the same tired methods all the while expecting different results. Perhaps we should have just brought rain gear and a toaster for each. I believe it's at the stage of the game now that nothing less than a subject to study will change any minds for the better. Yes, Ghost Hunting in the real world in much different than the fantasies than many allow the TV to fill their minds with. It's the two-minute warning and the paranormal world is down two touchdowns. We have enough evidence at hand to prove things have been seen. The questions are can we prove what the are or aren't? I guess I'm getting ahead of myself because if it's all of this earth, who's to say if it ever gets past this post. I guess as one ages and gets fooled by person after person, and thing after thing we become skeptical by default. After all, I am not in this field to prove something right or wrong. I am here to find the truth and it just seems to stay out of reach.
